The city, formerly known as “Singgahmata” or “the Place where the Eye Lingers”, has risen from the destruction of the last world war to become a vibrant and modern city that still retains its traditional charms. See many places of interests in the city centre such as the Wisma Tun Mustapha (Sabah Foundation Building), Sabah State and City Mosque and the Sabah Museum for the historical and cultural aspects of the indigenous people. After lunch, stop at a handicraft market
Start the tour across mountainous Crocker Range with panoramic view of the countryside and soaring hills. Whilst en-route to Kinabalu Park, you can catch the magnificent sight of Mount
Kinabalu, South East Asia highest peak. The Park is a World Heritage Site with incredible mega bio-diversity of flora and fauna, a heaven for nature enthusiasts. On arrival, enjoy a guided nature trek along one of the many trails in the park before proceeding to Poring Hot Springs which offers visitors the opportunity for an invigorating dip into its hot sulphur springs. For a closer look at nature, take the 41 meter high canopy walk which offers a spectacular view of the Borneo Rainforest flora and fauna. Lunch is included. Afternoon, continue the journey to Sabah Tea Garden. Check-in into your Cottage and you may participate blowpipe & batik painting at Sapaon Recreational Area or relax before dinner at Tea House
Start the day with a morning walk and enjoy beautiful sunrise view of Mountain Kinabalu and undulating tea plantation covered with a cool mist. Then proceed for a spectacular Malaysian Breakfast at Tea House and enjoy a Tea Factory Educational Tour before departing for Kg. Luanti Baru for Fish Massaging and to learn about the tagal fish conservation. You will then stay at a charming lodge in Sukau.
Early morning boat cruise and jungle walk (if weather permit) along the trails to the Ox-bow Lake for bird watching. Continue tour to Gomantong Cave, famed for its edible bird’s nests. Take about 15 minutes boardwalk to the opening of Semut Hitam cavern and explore the cave system on boardwalk. Aternoon, free at leisure to explore the surrounding areas or nearby village. In the evening, boat cruise along the Kinabatangan river to see the many species of flora and fauna of the rainforest.
You will be transferred to the Sepilok Orang Utan Rehabilitation Centre situated in the Kabili – Sepilok Forest Reserve. Learn about the rehabilitation of young or strayed orang utans before taking a boardwalk through lowland rainforest to viewing feeding platform. Witness the feeding of orphaned Orangutans. Then we will bring you to Sandakan for City Tour, you can visit the water village, central market & Buddhist temple. Overnight stay at the stunning Sepilok Nature Resort and the next we will drive you to Sandakan airport where your departure is.
